The Oxygen Balance

How do we get a steady supply of oxygen on Earth?

Oxygen is produced by photosynthesizing organisms that live in the ocean, in fresh water, and on land. These organisms include bacteria, algae and plants. Photosynthesizing algae in the ocean produce around 70% of oxygen in the atmosphere.

But Oxygen is something we all take for granted! As far as most people are concerned it has always been there, and always will be there! This is really foolish thinking, because Oxygen levels may seem constant, but in fact these levels depend on keeping pollution under control, and also ensuring that the organisms that produce the oxygen are protected, but this is not happening!

                                                              What slowed the Process?

The amount of atmospheric oxygen was a balance between what was produced through photosynthesis and what was lost as a result of decomposition of the dead plants and algae. To enable the atmospheric oxygen levels to get higher, the scientists say the process of decay must have been slowed or halted.
But they don't know what halted or slowed down this process?

Plants and algae use sunlight to remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and release oxygen. Living cells use oxygen from the atmosphere to obtain energy from food, releasing carbon dioxide.

                                                                   Ruining the Earth

The balance between these processes keeps the percentage of oxygen in the atmosphere relatively constant. However, the concentration of atmospheric oxygen has been declining over the past 30 years due to industrialization and modern civilization.

Observations have revealed that with the rapid development of industrialization and modern civilization, the concentration of atmospheric Oxygen has been declining for some considerable time. Simultaneously, the Oxygen levels in oceans have also been decreasing due to the change of solubility under the back ground of global warming , and more dead zones have appeared   (areas of little or no oxygen in the sea).

It should be obvious to everyone that mankind is slowly but surely destroying our environment, and that the Earth has reached a tipping point that cannot be reversed, we do not have the means or the will to stop the decline. The result without help is the destruction of all life in the very near future!

                                                             Balance - From Where?

how did the amount of atmospheric oxygen reach its present level? "It's not that easy to explain why it should balance at 21 percent rather than 10 or 40 percent," notes geoscientist James Kasting of Pennsylvania State University. "We don't understand the modern oxygen control system that well." But one thing is clear — the origins of oxygen in Earth's atmosphere derive from one thing: life.

Without life, oxygen would not exist in quantities to support it. Without Oxygen almost all life would die, including Mankind! Both are needed to produce a living planet. The creator of this wonderful world has said that he will not tolerate mankind's wanton and greedy destruction of this planet indefinitely, he will act to remove wicked people very soon! He will then repair the damage that has been done to our beautiful planet Earth!

Revelation chapter 11 verse 18 (in part):-   and to bring to ruin those ruining the earth.

Psalm chapter 1 verses 4 to 6:-    4 The wicked are not like that; They are like the chaff that the wind blows away. 5 That is why the wicked will not remain standing in the judgment; Nor will sinners remain standing in the assembly of the righteous. 6 For Jehovah is aware of the way of the righteous, But the way of the wicked will perish.

                              And we are ruining the Earth!
