The Day And The Hour?

Ecclesiastes chapter 9 verses 11 and 12:-   11 I have seen something further under the sun, that the swift do not always win the race, nor do the mighty win the battle, nor do the wise always have the food, nor do the intelligent always have the riches, nor do those with knowledge always have success, because time and unexpected events overtake them all. 12 For man does not know his time. Just as fish are caught in an evil net and birds are caught in a trap, so the sons of men are ensnared in a time of disaster, when it suddenly overtakes them.

There is no doubt that many times in a persons life, something happens that (to coin a phrase) throws a spanner in the works, something that we never wanted to happen and never expected! But we usually manage to get back up and find a way to cope with what life throws at us, we shrug our shoulders and acknowledge that "these things just happen", and that there is nothing we can do about it!.

                                                                     There Were Signs!

Vesuvius -   Most people have heard about the volcanic eruption that destroyed the roman city of Pompeii in 79 AD, but people failed to take into account the signs that the volcano was about to erupt which started well before the actual eruption, minor earthquakes and smoke coming from the top of mount Vesuvius was ignored. No one really thought that disaster was heading their way. It was almost as if they were blinded by their contented lives into believing that nothing bad could ever change their way of living! - They couldn't have been more wrong!

Krakatoa -   Another disaster that almost everyone has heard of happened in1883 . The island was an active volcano that was destroyed creating the loudest explosion of sound that has ever been recorded. The island collapsed into the sea and was swallowed up, but no one died as Krakatoa was apparently uninhabited, and few people died outright from the eruptions elsewhere. But the sinking of the island caused something that the surrounding islands and land masses had not foreseen, a giant tsunami estimated at hundreds of feet swept away at least 36,000 people, and many experts think the actual death tole was much higher! No one expected or even imagined that a disaster of this proportion could ever happen - But it did!

                                                                    Open Your Eyes!

Matthew chapter 24 verse 36:-   36 “Concerning that day and hour nobody knows, neither the angels of the heavens nor the Son, but only the Father.

People today are also blinded to the biggest disaster that mankind will ever face, and yet it is hurtling toward them and is totally unstoppable! Yet there are plenty of warning signs that are becoming more and more noticeable signifying it's imminent arrival! Just look at some of the signs, if you can't see the state the world is in today, the pollution, the world economy, the wars, the poverty, the me first attitude, the greed, power mad leaders, no hope of anything better! This world is nearing self destruction with no apparent way out? - For many people Hope has died, the rest are blind to the truth!

You will notice that the above scripture tells us clearly that we do not know the "day and hour" when that disaster that will destroy the majority of mankind (Armageddon) will arrive, but we are warned to "Keep on the watch" because the year of that destruction can be anticipated by the events happening on the Earth today, and it is these events as mentioned above that tells anyone who serves the true God Jehovah that it is imminent!

Matthew chapter 25 verse 13:-   13 “Keep on the watch, therefore, because you know neither the day nor the hour.

There is still time left for honest hearted individuals to smell the smoke of judgement that is heading our way, and avoid the coming tsunami by turning their lives around and coming to know and serve the true God before it is to late,  Don't be blind to the facts, you can avoid walking over the cliff!
